  Certain files wont show endless  'Creating properties window'

Bug description:
  Some of my files mp4 I noticed so far will not display a thumbnail nor
  will it so me the file properties when I right click and choose
  Properties on that file. Instead I get a window saying 'Creating
  Properties Window' and it sits like that forever till I hit cancel.
  This started as of Ubuntu 12.04 both fresh and upgrade install. Not a
  filesystem prblem  I got sme result when I copied file to a flash
  drive formatted fat32.    000q00q0q0q
