Upstream made the following comment 8 years ago

"Typically this bugs are caused by the fact that you compiled and
installed a new libmtp without obtaining the latest version of the apps
[Rhythmbox, Amarok, gnomad2] and recompiled these too.

Did you do that...?"

No reply was given, but it seems that the problem was induced by mixing
software from different releases. Closing as unconfirmed and obsolete.

Title:
Libmtp 1.0.1/1.0.2 doesn't display music on Sansa Fuze

Status in libmtp:
  Unknown
Status in libmtp package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I've been using Libmtp 0.3.7 for a while with my Sansa Fuze, and it
has worked great. I then tried Libmtp 1.0.1, and 1.0.2 (in the lucid
repository), and it doesn't work well at all with my Fuze. I'm using
Karmic with Libmtp 1.0.2 for all the following information. I used
Jaunty with Libmtp 1.0.1, and it actually worked a little better.
Banshee still had the same problem, but Rhythmbox didn't crash.

  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Using Banshee 1.5.4, it will show the player, and allow you to add
music to the player. It also shows the music you just added to the
player. But when you close Banshee, and open it again, it will scan
the Fuze, scans every file, but then shows nothing.

[Debug 18:44:47.204] Found DAP support (Banshee.Dap.Mtp.MtpSource) for device

[Warn 18:45:18.451] Forcefully breaking out of RCS loop b/c change in

You can then add more, and it will show them, but once you close it,
  the same thing will happen.

  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I also tried using Rhythmbox 0.12.5. Rhythmbox simply crashes.
Starting with the libmtp plugin disabled, and rhythmbox --debug, I
enable the libmtp plugin and it scans the Fuze, then when done gives:

  (18:35:52) [0x8d7e028] [load_mtp_db_idle_cb] rb-mtp-source.c:663: album:

Starting with the libmtp plugin gets me to:

Anyway, this is my first time using Launchpad for a bug. I didn't know
where to go with this problem. If anyone needs more info, please let
me know. Thanks for anyones help.
