I don't think I did, at least definitely not willingly. I only did do_release_upgrade. But this setup can no longer be replicated, so if this problem only affected me, there is probably no reason to keep it opened.

I checked and the only difference I've found is that before removal the dir has: drwxr-x--- 2 root root and after removal: drwxr-x---+ 3 root root So it seems newer nautilus can't work if there are no ACL assigned to the dir?
