** Description changed:

  Upstream bug:
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-software/issues/576

Currently, in the search view results, there is no way to tell whether
an app is a snap or deb without opening the detailed view for the app.
This can be especially helpful, when the same app is found in multiple
  sources.

See the attached screenshot when searching for 'telegram desktop'. (Note
that I have the flatpak plugin installed and added the Flathub
repository.) Only the flatpak shows its source, the deb and snap do not.
+
+ So it seems that gnome-software 3.28 core already supports showing the
+ source field in the overview (see the upstream bug and the attached
+ screenshot), and it's up to the deb and snap plugins to expose it.
