Title:
Thunderbird freezes when Internet is disable.
Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Hi,
I’ve openned Thunderbird since I was on a “free-wifi” connection unset: each
connection to the Internet were redirected to a page asking to type a
login/password of the Internet service provider. Thunderbird was trying to
connect to each of my account and of course got no correct response. I guess a
normal behavior would have been to switch to “offline-mode”, but Thunderbird
did not really response (it update the screen when I move it, but I could do
anything with the interface — even make it switch to offline mode!).
I’ve thus disable the Internet. Thunderbird just froze.
I do not know what did happens, but when I killed Thunderbird (after
Apport collected informations), enable Internet *and* give my
login/password to the Internet service provider, then start
Thunderbird, it works well.
It seems that there are some problem left with such connections.
Hoping that can help.
Martin.
