hi len, thanks for reporting this bug.
i'm not sure if this is a pervasive problem for others as well, but ubuntu studio will be making some more changes to the seeds to bring it in line with how xubuntu handles networking. hopefully during alpha 2 testing we can revisit this bug and see if it still persists. thanks again, scottl -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/901945 Title: network manager applet doesn't work in precise Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: In precise 12.04 alpha (dec 8 build, alt iso), Either or both Xubuntu or Ubuntustudio (and presumably others) when the iso is installed on a laptop/netbook using the wireless device for a network connection. On boot the network manager does not show a list of available wireless networks. (in Ubuntu Studio the applet doesn't even show) If the wireless connection started during boot fails, network manager is unable to cycle the connection. If the install is done by failing the network connect and installing with no network connection, on reboot the network manager works as expected.
