Title:
No sound in headphones on imac 2011[workaround]

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Using ubuntu 12.04 mac specific amd64 in a 2011 imac 21,5. Sound works
on the built-in speakers if no headphone is connected. This is not a
audio devide switch mute issue; the sound is activated, but no sound
is coming from a regular headphone when it is connected. System is
updated and no changes had been made to it.

It also looks to be an ancient bug, which affect macbooks also for example.
Let me know which information you need to fix that, and how to obtain that
information.
