Title:
evince throws EACCES for files on overlayfs filesystems
Status in evince package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
evince fails to open documents located on overlayfs filesystems (like
encrypted home directories). Also tested with an unencrypted overlayfs
mount of an ext4 fs. File could be read when accessed directly but
not via the overlayfs mount.
The exact same documents open correctly on other filesystems (tested
ext4 & tmpfs).
Same files can be read just fine on any of the tested filesystems
(including overlayfs) with epdfviewer
