This was probably never a Thunderbird bug as it should have been raised
against whichever project is related to the seeding of packages for the
ISO images.

Checking against the manifests for all current Ubuntu releases I see
that "thunderbird-locale-fr" is present on all of the currently released
images. Closing as fixed.

Title:
Thunderbird in english instead of french

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Hello,

I tried Xubuntu 12.04 RC live session.
  I choosed french language.
When I run thunderbird it's all in english.
Other apps (like Firefox, abiword, terminal...) are in french.

I think thunderbird-locale-fr (and a lot more) should be present on
  the ISO file.

  Here are the details:

  1) $ lsb_release -rd
  Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
  Release: 12.04

  2) xubuntu@xubuntu:~$ apt-cache policy thunderbird
  thunderbird:
    Installé : 11.0.1+build1-0ubuntu2
    Candidat : 11.0.1+build1-0ubuntu2
   Table de version :
   *** 11.0.1+build1-0ubuntu2 0
          500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main i386 Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

  xubuntu@xubuntu:~$ apt-cache policy thunderbird-locale-fr
  thunderbird-locale-fr:
    Installé : (aucun)
    Candidat : 1:11.0.1+build1-0ubuntu2
   Table de version :
       1:11.0.1+build1-0ubuntu2 0
          500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main i386 Packages

  3) I expected to see french menus.

  4) I saw english menus.

  Thanks.
