Hi again Andrew, as mentioned on the other bug you reported, we had a similar report about high CPU usage that turned out to be a troublesome extension rather than LibreOffice itself:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1825513 Please could you first try to disable any additional extension you have installed and see if the problem goes away. Thank you! ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1832973 Title: 100% CPU utilization Status in libreoffice package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: 1) screenshot of top with 100% cpu 2) Backtrace attached using "typescript" program I'm not sure why I have to include the following; isn't that one of the points of apport-bug, (which I used to report this)? # apt-cache policy libreoffice libreoffice: Installed: 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial7 Candidate: 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial7 Version table: *** 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial7 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial6 500 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security/universe amd64 Packages 1:5.1.2-0ubuntu1 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages # lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS Release: 16.04 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: libreoffice 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-51.55~16.04.1-generic 4.15.18 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-51-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.18 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sat Jun 15 21:23:50 2019 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-09-20 (268 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20180228) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: libreoffice UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1832973/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
