That's strange -- version 1:8.0-0ubuntu3.10 was actually released last
year on 2018-05-03. So if you're experiencing a new problem then maybe
pulseaudio is not the cause.
Please attach the file:
/var/log/apt/history.log
so we can find out...

after the update on 21/9/19 of pulseaudio to 1:8.0-0ubuntu3.10 I get
no sound and when killing the demon it restarts with the following
error - [pulseaudio] main.c: pa_pid_file_create() failed. Reboot does
not restore sound.
