This is might be the error:

Also everytime I ran hp-setup or hp-check (etc) it tells that the version is

  Most of the hp-* commands report "error: Unable to locate models.dat
  file", and are unusable.  The "base/models.py" python module expects
  to find models.dat somewhere near /usr/share/hplip/models/models.dat"
