Actually that's a good point but I would go lower level than that... In order to find out if the problem is coming from the hardware or the kernel please:
0. Open a Terminal window. 1. Run: sudo apt install evtest 2. Run: sudo evtest | tee evtest.txt 3. Select the mouse and leave it running (text will scroll as you move the mouse). 4. DON'T use the real right click at all from now on... 5. Wait till the bug happens and then Ctrl+C in the Terminal window. 6. Attach the file 'evtest.txt' here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1850627 Title: Right click happens automatically, disturbs work Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Since the last 3-4 days, the right click happens all by itself. Sometimes replacing the left click, while working in Inkscape or handling files on desktop for a fully updated 18.04. It is so annoying and good enough to destroy the work we are doing. I manually cleaned my mouse just in case hardware is causing the issue I tried using Cinnamon DE. There was no such issue in it. It would be great if there could be a fix. Thanks.
