Title:
Duplicated nm-applet (network tray icon) on panel

Status in lubuntu-default-settings package in Ubuntu:

Status in network-manager-applet package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Version: Lubuntu 18.04
What happen: On launching desktop there are two network tray icons depending
on how fast you started it.
What is expected: To have only one network tray icon whatever the way the
desktop is started.

  Description:
The miniapplication indicator's preference have two options: sound menu and
application's indicator, the last show the network icon, as well as other
indicators (I use Clipit and Multiload), so if unchecked it will hide those as
well besides the network one.

There is another tray panel for notification area, bringing energy
icon, and network again. This panel has no preference, so, if disabled
  will hide both icons.

I noticed that depending on how fast you boot your desktop, or if you
installed with the option not to ask the password on login enabled, it
may, sometimes, appear to be correct, with one single network icon.

If nm-applet is killed and then relaunched it seems to fix the
problem, but it's a workaround, it should not be the default
  behaviour.

The real solution: remove the indicataor applet from the panel.
