Unable to reproduce with Thunderbird 60.9 (bionic) or 68.1.2 (eoan).
With no comments for over 8 years this issue was probably resolved a
long time ago and this bug report can now be closed. Changing status to
"Incomplete" to allow this report to expire in the absence of any
further comments to confirm that the bug still exists.

Changing font settings are ineffective

Bug description:
When changing font settings (Preferences -> Display -> Fonts ->
Advanced) - when I change those settings and select different fonts
are use the checkboxes, the settings don't stay when I close the
dialog box. I then go back to the Advanced Fonts dialog and the
original settings are there and not the ones I selected.
