But gdm plays the login sound (the drums) anyway, making the user hunt down the System | Administration | Login Screen dialog where there's a "Play log-in sound" checkbox (thanks to the fix for #437429). gdm should not play the login sound when the user has said "no sounds" in the Sound preferences.
