Title:
[BlackOps, Realtek ALC889A, Green Line Out, Rear] Underruns, dropouts
  or crackling sound

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
All audio sources tried produce the same result: stuttering/glitching
sound when software mixer volume (NOT hardware/speaker volume) is
turned up, no sound at all when mixer volume is low. Have tried online
video (YouTube), and opening various audio file formats (wav, mp3,
flac, ogg) using various applications (Audacious, VLC, Audacity, Movie
Player) all with the same result.

I have Ubuntu Studio installed on a multiboot system, alongside Linux
Mint and Mageia (latest stable release of each as at 1 Nov 2012) - all
of which are exhibiting the same problem.

However, I still have my original installation of Windows 7, where the
  audio is working fine.

I am following the instructions on this wiki page, hence why I'm reporting
the bug:
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems

  Many thanks in advance! :)
