I have tried to install the backports and that doesn't work. I have also tried reinstalling my alsa drivers. The last time my system worked properly was with kernel 2.6.32-29. When I reboot to that kernel everything works OK. This seems to be a continuing problem. I get it fixed and the next kernel wipes it out. This problem seems to effect a lot of people. How to I fix this so that I don't have to spend so much time managing the software on my computer?
