Hi I have this issue with installing the latest HPLIP version 3.20.3.
I'm doing this on two different PCs, one running Linux 18.3 and the
other running Fedora 31.
In summary I agree to the terms of the proprietary plug-in download for 1606dn
printer and it appears to install the plug-in successfully, however the command
line tells me:
"error: Failed to install Plug-in.
Either you have chosen to skip the Plug-in installation or entered incorrect
Password."
I attach the output of sudo hp-diagnose_plugin on the linux mint 18.3:

which doesn't make any sense (both the sequence of dialogs and the
possibility of an incorrect password (the installation dialog doesn't
allow those)). The user is left without any ideas what went wrong. The
precise reason and instructions or tips how to fix them should be
provided.
