Bug description:
When I open a popup selection menu or a drop-down menu from a legacy
menu bar, it behaves oddly.
First, it appears in about the right place. Then it jumps to the top-
left of the owning window, and the items scroll off. I can navigate
it with the keyboard and mouse and it's almost usable. When the popup
is closed and I try to open it again, it refuses to appear until I
quit the appliation and reopen it.
Example 1:
* open Settings
* select Default Applications
* click one of the options to pop up its menu
* it may open in the right place, or immediately jump to the top left of the
window
* if it opened in place, attempts to interact cause it to jump to the top
left of the window
* close the popup, and it can't be opened again (at least not visibly)
* close the app, reopen it, and the process can be repeated
Example 2:
* some apps with legacy embedded menu bars also behave weirdly, e.g.
Quod Libet's menus will jump around similarly quite often, but not
entirely consistently
I assumed gnome-shell is responsible for positioning and rendering
popups, but maybe this is a GTK+3 bug?
