Aactivities overview is too small (half an icon high)

Bug description:
Hi,
since the upgrade to Focal I wonder why the "activities" overview isn't
readable anymore.
It is the one you get to when you click "activities" in the top let or hit
the "meta" key.
In my case this preview is only half an icon high, so I have to assume
what things are based on half an icon that is also partially faded out
it seems.
A screenshot will explain ...
