Title:
Audio Input/Output problem.
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
My original problem was with the microphone not working on my laptop. I
do not have a build in microphone so I have to plug in en external one
to a 3.5mm jack. In the sound preferences in the Input tab i had Mic1,
Mic2, and In line options available but non of them worked. After doing
some research I found out that adding "model=auto" to the last line of
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf fixed the microphone problem, but now my
audio output goes out to both built in speakers and headphones (when
plugged in) at the same time. It does not switch between two of them
when i plug in or unplug the headphones.
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 64bit on a MSI bare-bone laptop (hence exact
model number is unknown).
