Title:
No sound in Ubuntu 10.04. intermittent issue
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
- I was unable to get any sound in Ubuntu when the kernel upgraded from
default 2.6.32-21 -generic to 2.6.32-24-generic.
- Alsa 1.0.21 was the default sound driver.
- I followed the link :
http://monespaceperso.org/blog-en/2010/05/02/upgrade-alsa-1-0-23-on-ubuntu-lucid-lynx-10-04/
and upgraded the sound driver. to 1.0.23
- Now i am facing intermittent sound outages (across reboots) and many times
sound does not play at all.
- There are a few instances when the sound plays properly, but when i plug my
headphones in, sound stops playing.
- i tried the sound-debugging wiki, but no use. hence reporting this issue.
-Also, strangely,
in the link :
http://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/sound/alsa/HD-Audio-Models.txt
my sound card model is not listed :(
