I am still not happy (on Lucid at least). Why should it be necessary to
enable "Share public files over Bluetooth" when I just want to receive
files on the computer? I have already enabled "Receive files over
Bluetooth".

Title:
Receiving a file via bluetooth fails
Status in “gnome-bluetooth” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I cannot send any file from a Nokia 6630 TO my Ubuntu Hardy desktop. I use
the same phone and bluetooth adapter that worked just fine on Ubuntu 7.10
Here is something I found in syslog:
-----
Jun 4 10:20:50 B306-4 NetworkManager: <debug> [1212564050.329927]
nm_hal_device_added(): New device added (hal udi is
'/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/bluetooth_acl_119fc7f0bc').
Jun 4 10:21:00 B306-4 NetworkManager: <debug> [1212564060.228939]
nm_hal_device_removed(): Device removed (hal udi is
'/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/bluetooth_acl_119fc7f0bc').
-----
These messages repeat each time I try to send a file. The first message,
"hal_device_added()", pops up when I press "Send" on the phone.
The second one - exactly 10 seconds later.
I get absolutely no error messages from Ubuntu. The phone says "Sending
failed".
However, sending a file FROM Ubuntu to the phone works just fine.
