Title:
[Analog Devices AD1986A] Playback problem - sound is very crackly
  through speakers. Awful sound quality.

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I'm running 10.10 Maverick, and my sound on my Lenovo 3000 N100 wasn't
great. I tried doing the HDA Intel fix I found here :
  https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto but it only made
things worse. I've tried deleting the text that I added to the
document and rebooting but that didn't do anything.

The sound is bad whether it's through Youtube, Rhythmbox, or any other
  program.
