Title:
[EasyNote MZ36, Realtek ALC861-VD, Line Out, Internal] No sound at all
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
speaker play the tone, headphone does not - I am also having problems with
headset mic
Description: Ubuntu 11.04
Release: 11.04 it is a natty download from the ubuntu web site 3 days ago
I expect the headphone and mic to be plugged in to the jack at the front of
my easynote mz36 and to play sound and feed audio, when windows is run
everything works as expected - in ubuntu it is does not. speakers work (when
skype starts the skype intro is really messed up) in alsamixer there is a
slider for headphones but is set to 00 and can't be moved, in pulseudio sound
mixer (sound applet) I can switch between analogue output and analogue
headphones and it stops the speakers from working but does not engage the
headphones. The mic does not work when making a test call through skype or when
recording with sound recorder. the usb camera mic works but very poorly (the
camera itself does not). the mic doesn't show any bars on the volume display in
the pulseaudio mixer but when switched to the usb cammic it goes of the
charts... really frustrated have tried everything on the net and this is the
last attempt to get it up and running before committing ubuntu infidelity.
