Title:
[ICE1712 - M Audio Audiophile 24/96, playback] playback volume is 100%
on startup even though volume slider remembers position after shutdown
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Hello. I have audio card output connected to external amplifier which
powers speakers. Thats why I like to keep volume on ~50% on volume
slider in Ubuntu and adjust it there when needed. There is problem
though. After reboot volume is back to 100% and it almost blew out my
speakers once. On slider, it still stays 50% after startup, but its
100% until I move it a bit or mute and unmute.
