Title:
Alsa Sound starts clicking and popping in Lubuntu
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
After having been booted for some time, Alsa seems to start generating
clicking or popping sounds every few seconds. Running
aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
causes the clicking to stop, but only for a few seconds. To eliminate
the clicking altogether I had to run...
sudo alsa force-reload
...at which point the clicking stopped, at least for the last 15
minutes or so.
I also experience this same issue on another similarly configured
machine - a Dell, so I don't think it's a hardware issue.
