[CA0106 - CA0106] ALSA test tone not correctly played back

Bug description:
Made a clean Ubuntu 10.10 install and changed to xfce desktop when I noticed
no sound at all.
There is an onboard sound card which was working with previous (9.04, 10.04)
versions but I need this PCI sound card to work as it has 5.1 output.
Tried I think everything suggested on the next forum

and reported this bug by advice from lidex from the forum.
Please help me to solve this problem.
