Thank you for your bug report. The overview result relies on search
providers from applications. Are you sepcifically speaking about not
installation applications result as in your screeshot? In which case the
issue is a duplicate of bug #1875450

Bug description:
When using the search function in Gnome Shell's activity overview,
only local results seem to be returned. e.g. matches for
appplications, files, contacts, and characters. I would normally
expect to see results from at least online repositories/software
centre, too. If there are no local matches, the search doesn't seem to
time out (I've not waited more than a minute or two) and doesn't
return anything - see attached screenshot.
