Title:
Persistent GNOME Application Platform update that won't install

Status in gnome-software package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I've had a persistent available update in GNOME Software for a while
now that doesn't actually install when I hit Update (although it
doesn't have any obvious failures either). It's for GNOME Application
Platform version 3.34. When I hit the Update button, it briefly
changes to Installing and then goes back to showing as an update
  again.
