Thank you for your bug report, could you start it from a command line
without sudo? Graphical softwares are not meant to be used under sudo
and that's normal it's not working this way

Title:
  gnome-control-center crashed with SIGSEGV in
  _cogl_renderer_handle_native_event()

Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Software & Updates application crashed when tried to sign in -
  clicking the Sign in / Register button in the popup window.
  Furthermore, the "Other Software" tab doesn't change on clicking any
  of the records - the window greys out as it was bringing up a (root
  password) popup as expected but nothing happens, another click and
  it's back to normal without any change.

  Running the application from the terminal (with sudo to bypass the
  secondary issue above) the application runs fine the "Other Software"
  tab acts as expected but again the Livepatch sign in break the same
  way with the error:

  ```
  $ sudo software-properties-gtk
  [sudo] password for xxxxxxx:
  WARNING:root:Failed to spawn control-center:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message recipient disconnected
from message bus without replying
  ```
