I added "client min protocol = NT1" to /etc/samba/smb.conf and did a restart of
smbd, but still the same problem.
With a ubuntu 18 LTS I can access the same disk without problems.
Note: i did not reformat my HOME partition when fresh installing ubuntu 20 LTS.
Are there any files on HOME that could cause such problems?

Note: a newer (Beta) version of the Fritzbox software will add SMB2/3 support,
but that is not yet running on my production Fritzbox. During testing I had
client min protocol = SMB2 and client max protocol = SMB3, but it failed the
same.

Title:
ubuntu 20 error mounting smb drive

Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

nautilus->other locations>windows network lists the shared disk I want
to access. When I click on the name I get an errorbox: Unable to
access location. Failed to mount windows share: Software caused
  connection abort.

  nautilus->other locations>Connect to server: smb://192.168.nnn.nnn
  gives the same errorbox.

The shared disk is attached to my FritzBox router/modem.
This works without problems in ubuntu 18 LTS
