I suspect sunpinyin-data since that would make sense. Following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage gives "ibus- ui-gtk3": ryan@RyanVaio:~$ xprop WM_CLASS WM_CLASS(STRING) = "ibus-ui-gtk3", "Ibus-ui-gtk3" But, that's probably just the GUI component. In short, the problem is that this character doesn't show up in the character list: 洣 It's a real character, pronounced "mi3", and unfortunately happens to be part of a close family member's name. I have to copy-paste this character every time, and it's kind of a pain to do so. In case for some reason the font you're using doesn't display the character shown above, I've attached a small png image to this report. system details: ryan@RyanVaio:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS Release: 14.04 ryan@RyanVaio:~$ dpkg -l | grep sunpinyin ii ibus-sunpinyin 2.0.3-5build1 amd64 sunpinyin engine for ibus ii libsunpinyin3:amd64 2.0.3+git20130507-1ubuntu1 amd64 Simplified Chinese Input Method from SUN (runtime) ii sunpinyin-data 0.1.22+20120112-1 amd64 Statistical language model data from open-gram Running xubuntu 14.04 fully updated on a vaio pro 11. What I expect to happen: * I type "mi", the character list shows up, and scrolling through several pages of characters I find the "洣" character among the list (probably near the end). What actually happens: * I type "mi", scroll through several pages of characters, unable to find "洣", so I have to go copy-paste it from my notes instead.
