Romano, please file a new separate bug for your crash since it's most likely not the same issue at all.
demoniodojo, Could you try to reproduce this issue and take a screenshot or photo or the errors you're seeing on screen? The issue you're describing sounds a lot like a kernel panic if the system crashes and locks up with the display reverting to text mode (and long error messages). I'll reassign this to 'linux' and stay subscribed to this bug, in case it happens to not be a panic at all; but we'll need to see the error messages for the crash to know for sure. Thanks! ** Package changed: network-manager (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/892324 Title: Computer crashes when connected to some wifi networks Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: When Iḿ connected to the wireless network of the department where I work, the laptop crashes with a bunch of text on screen and I have to shut it down by pressing the power button for some time. It just happens when I connect to that network, since any other wi-fi or hotspot works fine. I know that the wireless router used there is a NanoStation Loco by Ubiquity. My laptop wi-fi chipset is Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG and I'm using Ubuntu 11.10, the latest release. --- ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 Architecture: i386 CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 EcryptfsInUse: Yes Gconf: IfupdownConfig: auto lo iface lo inet loopback InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Release i386 (20111012) IpRoute: default via 10.64.64.64 dev ppp0 proto static 10.64.64.64 dev ppp0 proto kernel scope link src 186.25.70.86 169.254.0.0/16 dev ppp0 scope link metric 1000 Keyfiles: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory NetworkManager.state: [main] NetworkingEnabled=true WirelessEnabled=true WWANEnabled=true WimaxEnabled=true Package: network-manager 0.9.1.90-0ubuntu5 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-generic 3.0.4 RfKill: 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no Tags: oneiric running-unity Uname: Linux 3.0.0-12-generic i686 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare modified.conffile..etc.NetworkManager.NetworkManager.conf: [modified] mtime.conffile..etc.NetworkManager.NetworkManager.conf: 2011-11-21T10:08:43.802740 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/892324/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
