P.S. Previous bug reports on this topic seem to have been closed as
people found the problem was caused by extensions they had installed. So
please check that you don't have any non-standard gnome-shell extensions
installed.

System hangs, syslog filled with `org.gnome.Shell.desktop` reports

I have been having incidents where the system suddenly hangs and
nothing except a restart works.
The only thing that I can see in logs are the following:
Syslog filled up with repeats of:
