> This is probably the result of one of the font size bugs. Have you noticed shell font sizes changed in the past week or two?
I'm not sure, I would say no, but maybe I just didn't notice. I've been reading bug #1892521, and someone suggests issuing two dconf commands as a workaround. However, as this happens in GDM just prior to being logged in, is there any way I can make some test to see if this is the same bug? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1893567 Title: Login name ellipsis/dot-dot-dot in GDM Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Recently, my Ubuntu 20.04.1 login screen started showing my username as a dot-dot-dot, with a vertical scroll, despite being my user name only four letters (i.e.: kopa). It is the only user account in the system too. I've attached a screenshot of the login screen where the issue can be seen. GDM here is version 3.34.1-1ubuntu1. I'm running Xorg (no wayland). No changes to its configuration were made. I can provide whatever extra information that could be useful in diagnosing this problem. Thank you.
