Title:
  keyboard and mouse input stops working in the gnome shell

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I've recorded the bug and uploaded privately to youtube:

  In this video you can see the steps to recreate the bug:
  -> https://youtu.be/gSEonR2hREs

  Steps (in this case):
  - Make an app folder
  - Open it
  - Drag the application outside the folder
  - Without closing the folder, right click on the application icon, and then
click in an empty space inside the folder. Repeat this until the folder closes
itself automatically.
  - Now any program will ignore the keyboard shortcuts, I installed "screenkey"
so you can see that the keyboard is working normally.

  In this one you can see nautilus ignoring all my input (keyboard shortcuts
and mouse clicks), this behavior is present in all the other apps:
  -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSBebjHZUkU

  Also, I can recover the control if I click on the top right button, the
activities overview, but everuthing stops working if I exit the activities
overview:

  [ The workaround was logging out and logging back again. ]

  Output of lsb_release -rd:
  Description: Ubuntu Groovy Gorilla (development branch)
  Release:      20.10

  Output of apt-cache policy gnome-shell:
  gnome-shell:
    Installed: 3.37.91-1ubuntu1
    Candidate: 3.37.91-1ubuntu1
    Version table:
   *** 3.37.91-1ubuntu1 500
          500 http://hn.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu groovy/main amd64 Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

  What I expected to happen:
  -> I can take the app out of the folder.

  What happened instead:
  -> gnome-shell (and all the other programs) started to ignore all my input.
