Hello Marco, or anyone else affected, Accepted gnome-shell-extension-appindicator into focal-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension- appindicator/33.1-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
