failure to create an chrome app shorcut

Bug description:
I tried to create a Google Earth shortcut through the adequate Chromium
feature. It did not work.
1) the desktop file landed in Desktop folder, not in
~/.local/share/applications
2) the desktop shortcut is not valid, it simply opens Chromium with a void url
