The only leak fix in 3.36.7 is
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/1449 but that one
may never be noticeable so may not be the issue you describe.

If you experience leaks then remove any extensions you have installed.
If the problem keeps happening after that then open a new bug by
running:

  ubuntu-bug gnome-shell
