Title:
USB Mouse removed and added intermittently
Status in xserver-xorg-input-libinput package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
When installing 20.04.1 on my workstation I experienced that there was
some lag or stutter when using the mouse when navigating the desktop,
and even more while playing a game where reliance on the mouse is
quite extensive.
I opened my log and saw these messages where the device was removed
and added anew due to that Ubuntu diagnoses it as removed, and re-adds
it again. See the log below.
I also tried to reinstall with Ubuntu 20.10 which I'm now running,
hoping that the issue wouldn't be present in a later release with a
newer kernel and surrounding packages. But to my disappointment it
unfortunately had the same flaw.
This issue has never been present in Fedora 32, nor in previous
versions that I've been using prior to my newfound acquaintance with
Ubuntu, so it would suggest the problem is with Ubuntu and not the
hardware.
I have also put this issue up on askubuntu prior to posting it as a bug, but
from my perspective it sure looks like it.
