Hello Olivier, or anyone else affected, Accepted thunderbird into focal-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/1:78.7.1+build1-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
