Restore and maximize window laggy

Bug description:
Fresh installation of Ubuntustudio 21.10 (Plasma desktop) with
thunderbird 91.1.2 (deb version, not a snap).
When I use the restore or maximize button of the thunderbird window,
the screen is not updated correctly, it takes a few seconds and maybe
never finishes. However, when I open the application menu, the screen
will be instantly refreshed and the thunderbird window is drawn
correctly then.
I was able to take some screenshots:

second after hitting the restore button
https://i.imgur.com/pvpv4Ir.png shows the screen about one and a half
second after hitting the maximize button.
Since I'm having this problem with thunderbird only, I don't think
it's related to Plasma but the application itself, but who knows.
