@freewee, xorg-modulepath-fix package is not require for installing nvidia-340 package. xorg-modulepath-fix package is automatically modified xorg.conf file for adding module-path fixes. If you do not need to create xorg.conf files or you have already added module-path fix by manually, you do not need to install the xorg-modulepath-fix package.
Note: I updated xorg-modulepath-fix package to use nvidia-xconfig command options. Nvidia-340 package in the PPA repository has supports up to kernel 5.15 and also supports bionic, focal, hirsute and impish bases. https://launchpad.net/~kelebek333/+archive/ubuntu/nvidia-legacy -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-340 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1916640 Title: Nvidia 340.108 fails to install with kernels 5.11.x - new patches needeed Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers-340 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: As usual I have opened this (no more) new bug report...
