Mouse pointer sometimes becomes invisible for a while

Bug description:
Sometimes the mouse pointer becomes invisible for a while; then -- and
I don't understand what triggers that -- it reappears. The mouse
continues working -- mouseover and clicking works, so the only problem
is that the pointer is invisible.
