Title:
Sharing a folder should check parent folder's permission
Status in Nautilus:
New
Status in nautilus-share package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Bug description:
Binary package hint: nautilus
Using right-click -> sharing options:
When sharing a folder with wrong permissions (eg. no reading permissions for
other users), you get a warning dialog, offering to change permissions for that
folder.
But, if that folder has correct permissions and its parent folder doesn't
have, it doesn't give any warning.
Example:
$ mkdir folderA
$ mkdir folderA/folderB
$ chmod o-rx folderA
Then try to share folderB. You get no warnings, and the share doesn't
work. It should give the same warning you get if you try to share
folterA.
