I've got a fix for this, and I'll upload a new upstream version of gscan2pdf to fix this ASAP, I hope in the next 12 hours.

It's actually the upstream tests which fail, and gscan2pdf also fails to build on Debian unstable with the very same errors: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1005576 Probably a gscan2pdf rebuild would fail on Ubuntu too, but I haven't confirmed that. Several other packages are blocked from migration because of this problem with gscan2pdf.
