This sounds like you're missing the corresponding XDG desktop portal
implementation.

Try:

    sudo apt install xdg-desktop-portal-gnome

  import of ca-certificate in browser does not work

Bug description:
  I tried to import a CA root certificate into both Firefox and Chrome.
  In Firefox, the import button just didn't do anything, in Chrome
  pressing "import" hangs up the browser. This means I can't reach the
  intranet of the company I work for.
