In the secont test of the bug reporting process, which appears to show the "original" camera image via gstreamer, the image is also wrong, but in another way. it's completely dark, but looking more closely, it seems to be the cam image, but extremely darkened so only a few of the most white parts of the actual image visible. Taking an actual shot with cheese seems to produce the actual image as is without any of both of these problems, so it seems to be the preview thats in error.
